Welcome to Term 2!! At this stage our Learning From Home unit of work will continue. I have a pack of Learning Materials available to be picked up from school for all students. Please ensure this happens on Wednesday, 29th April between 9:00am and 3:00pm. The learning materials have been provided to reduce reliance on students having to print at home and to provide more similar materials to those that are used at school. So please ensure this pack is picked up so learning can continue tomorrow. The packs will be available from the 5/6E classroom. I will continue to post videos explaining Maths concepts so students can complete their worksheets. Spelling, Grammar & Reading activity materials will require use of Google Documents, completing quizzes online and using materials provided in the Learning Materials Packs. Many, but not all of these materials will be part of the Must Do activities for our Activities Matrix. Please ensure students read through the Activities Matrix in order to complete all of the Must Do activities and any of the May Do activities. Students are required to show evidence of the work they have completed by copying and pasting work/images into a Google Slides presentation called Evidence of Completed Tasks Weeks 1/2 etc.... This Google Slides presentation is where student work is collated and shared with me, once completed. It provides a central point for me to then check what has been completed, I can provide feedback easily and work can be assessed and recorded without receiving individual emails for each completed task. At all times students can ask for my assistance using the Chat feature in our Google Classroom Stream. The video conference will also provide us with a chance to discuss activities and for me to model how to complete tasks. Students can also email me at: [email protected] We will continue to hold a video conference each school day morning from 9:30am. However, this time the video conference will occur using Zoom. I have posted some information on how to access our Zoom conference in our Google Classroom. Students have access through their Student Portal. A link to our meetings will be posted each morning in our Google Classroom. Each day we will require a new link to get into the video conference so please access the new link that will be posted each day. This Term Year 5 & 6 students have been given access to the online learning program called 'Think Global, Act Local' provided by an organisation called MAPPEN. For more information please see the information provided in the Learning Materials Packs and the letter inside these packs. The letter includes an access code that students will need to access these activities through the MAPPEN Learning From Home website. If you have any questions, please get in contact with me by phoning the school on: 4471 6120 or by emailing me at: [email protected] Thanks for your flexibility during these challenging times, happy learning! Mr E Hi!
Even though there is lots going on in the news and people are missing being at school……... I am excited that we get to trial a different style of learning. I will post some links in our 5/6E Google Classroom, some will be new and some familiar. Your school work will include a grid each week. There is no specific order you need to follow however it is important for you to get as much done as possible to a high standard. Make sure you are asking mum/dad/brother/sister/cat/dog to help or give their opinion or feedback (if your cat talks back you may have some extra issues). Some of the work is self marked, for example BTN questions, some can be marked yourself eg. Maths worksheets (I will post a copy of the answer sheets a day after each page is to be done) and some will need to be sent to me and checked. Please make sure that before you send it that you have double checked your work yourself and have asked someone at home to provide you with feedback before submitting it to me. You can either share your work with me directly (Docs, Slides etc), present it during our Hangout at 9:30am or email it to me at [email protected]. Each day we will have a Google Hangout at 9:30am. This is an opportunity to check in with each other, ask questions and share some quality work. Please make sure you have your microphone is turned off before you join and that you are using the platform sensibly just like you were at school. The link to connect is here: meet.google.com/yhs-cyhm-oxf Please feel free to get in contact with me at any time from 9:00am-3:00pm Monday -Friday. Stay safe and happy!! Mr Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee Dear Parents/Carers,
Please click on the link below to book a time for a Parent-Teacher Interview. https://forms.gle/udiuBwQh1BERz7Kz9 If none of these times suit you, please contact me via the Home page, Contact Form on this Class Website. Thanks, MrE Every Friday, 5/6E students are engaged in Physical Education lessons run by our superb Tennis coach, Rob. Students have developed a range of skills including; rallying, backhand and forehand shots, serving and playing in Doubles format. Throughout these lessons, 5/6E students have developed greater hand eye coordination, body positioning and footwork. They have been learning about the game of tennis and have shown great improvement over the last four lessons. I am looking forward to seeing more development over the remaining few weeks. On Friday the 28th of February, 5/6E along with other Stage 3 classes walked to North Broulee beach to do our annual Clean Up Broulee, as part of Clean Up Australia Day. As the fires burnt a lot of the dunes, there wasn't a lot of rubbish to pick up. We did all learn about the regeneration of this part of the landscape and helped to remove rubbish that the fires didn't claim. Thank you to the students for your willing participation in this initiative. Let's strive to maintain our beautiful environment, better yet, let's do more to make it even better! |
Mr EnrightThis is my fifth year teaching at Broulee PS and my first Stage 3 class since teaching in Sydney. I'm really looking forward to seeing 5/6E students endeavour, grow and achieve. Archives
